Telco Services & Customer Base
Vodafone Australia (part of TPG Telecom) offers mobile plans, SIM-only offers, and home broadband services via the NBN. It serves approximately 5.8 million mobile customers, making it the third-largest mobile operator in the country.
While less dominant than Telstra or Optus, Vodafone is strong in urban areas and often competes on price, flexibility, and international roaming offers.
Vodafone Australia is part of TPG Telecom, following the 2020 merger between Vodafone Hutchison and TPG.
It operates its own mobile network and shares infrastructure and strategy with other TPG brands.
Customer service, plans and branding remain separate from iiNet and TPG.
Network Infrastructure & Coverage
Vodafone owns and operates its own mobile infrastructure, covering about 96% of the population with 4G. Its 5G rollout is underway, now available in over 3,400 suburbs across major cities.
For fixed-line broadband, Vodafone resells plans over the NBN, without owning the fibre network itself. The network is generally fast in cities, but less present in rural or remote zones.
