Telco services & customer base

iiNet is a long-standing Australian ISP, now part of TPG Telecom Group, offering NBN broadband, mobile SIM plans, and Fetch TV services.

It has historically served over 1 million broadband customers, particularly strong in Western Australia where it was originally founded.

iiNet focuses on solid customer service, flexible plans, and optional entertainment bundles through Fetch.

iiNet has been part of TPG Telecom since 2015 but continues to operate under its own brand.
It delivers NBN and mobile services using shared infrastructure (Vodafone for mobile, Optus for some MVNOs).
Despite shared ownership, iiNet maintains its distinct service and support channels.

Network infrastructure & coverage

iiNet does not own its own mobile or fibre infrastructure.

  • Mobile: Operates as an MVNO on the Optus network, covering ~99% of the population on 4G.
  • Internet: Offers NBN plans nationwide, using FTTP, FTTN or HFC based on location. It also provides VoIP and legacy email hosting for long-time customers.

The brand is known for reliable metro performance and wide availability, though its services are fully dependent on third-party infrastructure.
