To do: Check the light on your Telstra Smart Modem: solid green, the connection is reaching your home.
To do: Light red? Check the power and make sure the modem's cables are connected securely.
To do: Unplug the modem from the wall outlet, plug it back in and wait a few minutes for the light to settle.
To do: Try another device, then a computer plugged in with an Ethernet cable: if that works, it's the Wi-Fi.
To do: Still down? In My Telstra, select Test and troubleshoot internet and follow the prompts.

Telstra Mobile

To do: Turn on Aeroplane Mode for 30 seconds, then turn it off.
To do: Restart your phone so it reconnects to the Telstra network.
To do: Turn off your phone, remove the SIM, gently wipe its contacts and reinsert it. Then test it in another phone.
To do: Check in the My Telstra app that your service is active and your data allowance isn't used up.
To do: Use Telstra's check for outages tool to see if your area is affected.

Telstra's mobile network covers 900,000 km² more than any rival and has run on 4G and 5G only since 3G closed in October 2024. Home broadband is sold over nbn, the national wholesale network. In June 2026, Telstra counted 26.0M retail mobile services, IoT included.
