  • To do: Look at the Internet light on your eir fibre box 7: white, you're connected to the internet.
  • To do: Light red or off? Check the power adapter is connected and the power source is switched on.
  • To do: Press the Power button on the back, wait five seconds, turn it on again and wait two minutes.
  • To do: Test another device, then a computer connected by Ethernet cable: if that works, it's the Wi-Fi.
  • To do: Still down? Use the eir troubleshooting tool to run quick diagnostics and log a fault.

Eir Mobile

  • To do: Turn on flight mode for 30 seconds, then turn it off.
  • To do: Turn your phone off and on to do a location update on the eir network.
  • To do: Remove the SIM, clean it, reinsert it, then place it in another handset to test it.
  • To do: Check your data allowance on your account through the eir app.
  • To do: Still no signal? Contact eir by Chat to find out if your area is affected.

eir owns Ireland's main fixed network, run by its wholesale arm open eir, and a mobile network also used by GoMo and Lyca Mobile. NJJ Boru, controlled by Xavier Niel and Iliad, holds more than 70% of eir. Its 3G network is being switched off in phases from 1 October to 6 November 2026.
