SKY Overview
Sky is a major telecommunications and media company based in the UK, with a long history in broadcasting and telecom services.
In 2018, Sky was acquired by Comcast, a US-based media and telecommunications conglomerate. This acquisition marked a significant shift, as Comcast aimed to expand its European presence and bolster its content and broadband services through Sky’s infrastructure.

- Satellite Network: Sky’s core offering has always been satellite television, and it continues to be a leader in this field in the UK. The company’s satellite infrastructure allows for nationwide coverage, offering TV services to millions of homes across the UK and Europe.
- Broadband network: Sky does not own its own physical broadband infrastructure but instead relies on the Openreach network, which is owned by BT, for its broadband service delivery.
- Mobile Network: Sky operates its mobile network as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), meaning it uses the infrastructure of other major UK operators (such as O2) to deliver mobile services.
