To do: Check your GCI modem: globe (Sagemcom) or @ (Hitron) symbol lit, not flashing, means it's online.
To do: Symbol off or flashing? Check the power cord and the cable connection on the modem.
To do: Unplug the modem for at least 30 seconds, plug it back in and wait 1-2 minutes.
To do: Test another device, then a computer connected by Ethernet cable: if that works, it's the WiFi.
To do: Still down? Check the GCI service outages page for regional notices.

To do: Turn Airplane Mode on for 30 seconds, then turn it off.
To do: Hold the power button for five seconds and tap Restart so your phone re-registers on the GCI network.
To do: Remove the SIM card, clean it, reinsert it, then test it in another phone.
To do: Check in MyGCI that your line is active and your plan is not used up.
To do: Check the GCI service outages page to see if your area is affected.

Founded in 1979, GCI runs its own fixed and mobile network in Alaska: 97% of Alaskans live within it. Its parent GCI Liberty was spun off from Liberty Broadband in July 2025 and renamed Liberty Capital in May 2026. GCI keeps its name and brand.
