Xfinity outage or just me?

Xfinity Internet

  • To do: Check the light on your Xfinity Gateway: solid white means the connection reaches your home.
  • To do: Red light or no light? Check the power cord and tighten the coax cable at the wall and on the Gateway.
  • To do: Unplug the Gateway for one minute, plug it back in and wait for the light to turn solid white.
  • To do: Test another device, then a computer connected by Ethernet cable: if that works, it's the WiFi.
  • To do: Still down? Select WiFi, then Troubleshoot in the Xfinity app, or check the Xfinity Outage Map.

Xfinity Mobile

  • To do: Turn Airplane Mode on for 30 seconds, then turn it off.
  • To do: Restart your phone so it re-registers on the Xfinity Mobile network.
  • To do: Remove the SIM, clean its gold contacts and reinsert it. With an eSIM, get a new eSIM in the Xfinity app.
  • To do: Check under Mobile lines and data usage in the Xfinity app that your line is active and data not used up.
  • To do: Check the Xfinity app for outage details to see if your area is affected.

Xfinity is Comcast's consumer brand. Its fixed network is Comcast's own hybrid fiber-coax (HFC) cable network, passing 65.0M homes and businesses. Xfinity Mobile, launched in 2017, is an MVNO on Verizon's network, with Comcast's own CBRS 5G cells and Wi-Fi hotspots.
