Fios

  • To do: Check the light on your Verizon Router: solid white means the connection reaches your home.
  • To do: Yellow, red or no light? Check the power cord and the cable from the wall on the Verizon Router.
  • To do: Unplug your router for one minute, plug it back in and wait for the light to turn solid white.
  • To do: Test another device, then a computer connected by Ethernet cable: if that works, it's the WiFi.
  • To do: Still offline? Sign in on the Verizon outage page: it shows known outages and the repair time.

Verizon Mobile

  • To do: Turn Airplane Mode on for 30 seconds, then turn it off.
  • To do: Restart your phone so it re-registers on the Verizon network.
  • To do: Remove the SIM card, check its copper plating for marks or scratches, then put it back in.
  • To do: Check on the Device Overview page in My Verizon that your line is active.
  • To do: Check the Verizon network status page to see if your area is affected.

Verizon runs its own 4G LTE and 5G mobile network and a fiber network built on Fios. Its $20B acquisition of Frontier, closed on January 20, 2026, brought its reach to about 30M fiber passings. At June 30, 2026, it counted 94.1M postpaid phone connections.
